About Me!

A few years ago, I moved the wonderfully small town of Buckley, WA. It takes me at least an hour to reach any major city. When I first moved, I was terrified of being so far from civilization. However, like so many of us, we do silly things for love (this was where my boyfriend wanted to live). It didn’t take long at all for me to change my tune and fall in madly in love with this quiet, one horse town. Since living out here, I’ve been getting more creative with my cooking and have quite the garden growing out back. It occurred to me I needed to start writing down my experiences to share and also to remember. Life is good in a small town. Hope you enjoy my blog.

A few more simple stats:

Where I live: Buckley is essentially the base of Mt. Rainier in the wonderfully wet state of Washington. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest all my life and love it!

Occupation: Teacher, middle school science

Hobbies: Cooking, Canning, Gardening, Fishing, Crochet, Quilting.

Here’s a pic of me, Mountain Man, and Stella 🙂

  2. I not only moved from a city to a village but from the U.S. to the U.K. Yeah, it’s taken some getting used to, and I do love cities when I’m in them, but all this quietness? Damn, it’s wonderful.

  3. I followed my hubby-to-be to a place 1 hour from the nearest city too and I love everything about it. Living in the country is awesome!

  4. Hi I just now came across your blog. Iam going to try your Enchiladas. They look really good! Love your picture and love, love Stella. She is so pretty ! I have two Golden Retrievers. Just part of the family. Have a great day.

  5. Your Enchilade recipe sounds wonderful! and I love the pic with your beautiful dog who looks almost exactly like my Mya (who is half white shepard and half husky – just a little bit of shedding 😉
